3 Beachwood Teams Compete at Global Finals
A record three Beachwood
teams competed and made strong showings at the Destination ImagiNation Global Finals, held at the University of Tennessee, May 23-26.
The sixth grade team placed 25th out of 70 middle school teams in their "challenge," while the seventh grade team placed 25th out of 78 teams. Beachwood's fourth grade team placed 29th out of 114 teams - and were the highest placing elementary team from Ohio in their challenge.

The Beachwood teams
qualified when they each placed second in their respective categories at
the DI state tournament on April 21 in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. Beachwood's
program continues to expand under 15th year adviser and 5th grade teacher,
Mrs. Shelly Lewis, who grew the program from six teams a year ago, to 12 teams this year.
Six Beachwood teams qualified for the state tournament by taking first place at the March 10th regional tournament at Beachwood High School. All 12 of Beachwood's teams placed fourth or
better at the regional tournament. The following are the results of Beachwood's 12 DI teams from the Regional Tournament in March:
