Our Mission: To Develop Intellectual Entrepreneurs With a Social Conscience
Core Values:
Contribute to society and community; Respect individuality and diversity; Expect quality; Encourage risk-taking, innovation and leadership; Develop lifelong learners
The Beachwood City School District
is located in Beachwood, Ohio, an east-side suburb of Cleveland.
Approximately 1,624 students are enrolled in four schools. The Fairmount Early Childhood Center is a learning center for
toddlers and preschoolers; this building also houses the Board of
Education offices.
The Beachwood City School District is guided
by this mission statement: To develop intellectual entrepreneurs with a
social conscience. These carefully chosen eight words mean the District
is centered on the development of creative, knowledge-seeking members of
the community who will take risks and see the big picture; young men
and women who will become the responsible global leaders of tomorrow.
Beachwood
Schools have earned three U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon
Awards, the highest rating of Excellent from the State of Ohio
Department of Education, membership in the elite Ohio Department of
Education "Schools to Watch," a National 21st Century School of
Distinction Award for Technology Excellence, induction in the Ohio
Association of Elementary School Administrators Hall of Fame, two
Excellence in School Management Awards from the Harvard Business School
Club, District libraries recognized as "Ohio Library of Distinction,"
and national recognition as among the Top 100 in Music Education from
the American Music Conference. These achievements are made possible by a
community-wide dedication to scholarship and academic excellence that
is reflected in our slogan, “Learning for Life.”
